How Green is Your Website?

We are thinking seriously about our digital carbon footprint.

Visions4Health is committed to its own environmental accountability. We understand the importance of hitting Net Zero targets for ourselves, the NHS and our life science clients. To align with global Science Based Targets, Visions4Health must commit to reducing half of its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2030, and to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

To achieve a 50% reduction in emissions by 2030, Visions4Health is required to reduce its emissions by 3.74 tCO2e over the next six years. The company’s Carbon Reduction Plan outlines our identified carbon reduction strategies, however as a fully virtual market access agency we need to seriously think about our digital carbon footprint. Digital tech is currently responsible for 3.5% of all global GHG emissions, compared to 2.5% from the aviation industry.

So, when we very recently redesigned our company website, ensuring the new site was as green as possible was paramount. We are delighted to announce that not only is the new visionshealth.com snazzier, it’s also greener. Compared to our last website which generated 0.3g of CO2 every time someone visited, this site generates 0.13g of CO2, so is cleaner than 87% of all web pages globally, and we get an A carbon rating https://www.websitecarbon.com/website/visions4health-com/. The website does run on green energy but also demonstrates you can make efficiencies in the build, content and navigation, and still have a green website with full CMS, forms and images.
