It has never been more important for businesses to step up and take account of the environmental impact associated with their operations. The NHS has set itself, and, by extension, its suppliers, some very ambitious Net Zero targets, and in the past 12 months, Visions4Health has noticed a marked increase in the number of our life science clients writing sustainability/ESG clauses within MSAs and contracts. As a fully virtual agency offering market access consultancy services, Visions4Health has always believed itself to have a low carbon footprint, however this doesn’t mean we should rest on our laurels. In fact, as we plan for 2024, our sustainability strategy will be central to business operations.
As a first step towards environmental accountability, Visions4Health partnered with Carbon Neutral Britain to understand exactly what our current carbon footprint is (7.48 tCO2e) with the purpose of offsetting our total organisational emissions to become Carbon Neutral. We have achieved this through internationally certified carbon offsetting projects, such as providing energy efficient lighting in India; wind farms in Mongolia and generating hydroelectric power in the Andes mountains of Chile. We have also recently participated in the EcoVadis assessment and were delighted to receive a Silver Medal, afforded to the top 25% of organisations.
In addition to carbon offsetting, Visions4Health will take further action to reduce its future emissions as much as practically possible. Our carbon emissions report has helped us identify reduction strategies that will feed into an overall reduction target plan with the aim of achieving Net Zero by 2050, in line with national legislation, international protocol and our life science client’s expectations.
